Love That Transcends All Understanding
I can understand how both can be considered the same things. I think that some might see compassion and ruthlessness when someone has achieved clarity and they act.
Kate
Thanks Kate! I always saw ruthlessness as negative so didn’t understand the quote. But I guess being ruthless isn’t always about harming someone….Aw, heck I’m still clueless. I don’t understand this one! :S
Okay this is what it means to me. When you have clarity in your mind, about your life, about a situation, about who you are and what you need or want to do, it is easy to make a decision that others might interpret as being compassionate… or ruthless. Because you are doing the exact right thing for you to do and that does not mean that you do what others want or need you to do or that you give in to what others try to pressure you into doing or manipulate you into doing and others might not see you as clearly or accurately as you see the situation, and so it can be interpreted differently by others. In this situation I would see ruthlessness being what someone sees through their own flawed lens and not what you are actually doing. Does that make any sense? Hope I explained it right.
Kate
Ah! that is very helpful, Kate. Thank you
You explained that well. I think I understand now
Thanks!
Me too, that was a good explanation! hugs Paula xx
Glad it wasn’t just me, lol
Interesting quote! I also always associated ruthlessness with negative connotations. But I guess ruthlessness is simply the act of going for something with energy and not taking no for an answer.
If you pursue peace ruthlessly then I guess it’s ok haha, still sounds a little funny to me >.<
Thanks for sharing!
Rohan.
Thanks Rohan! Thankfully Kate explained it well
