Today I thought I might try my hand at building a website even though I know absolutely
NO HTML code or anything. However, good ‘ol Microsoft Office to the rescue with its Publisher programme. I was trying to make my Zazzle store products display better by having my own website with designs I like. The current situation is a plain white page on Zazzle with just a slim header at top. It’s not very appealing. So Zazzle has this file you can download to make your personalised Zazzle page. But it requires you know a bit of CSS and HTML as the bare minimum. Well I don’t know ANY of that stuff so I’m hoping I can figure something out with Publisher and have that work for me instead. Just not sure if I need a domain name or not because they have a fee associated.
This was supposed to be my day to catch up on blogs but I got side tracked with reading instructions on what to do with zip files once you’ve extracted them and where they get stored so they are accessible for your site. All a bit confusing to me I’m sorry to say. So I don’t know if I’ll bother pursuing the website or not. On CafePress they have a few free templates you can use and Zazzle used to as well. But then around the end of last year they took the templates away and made it so only people with CSS and HTML knowledge can have a nicely designed shop page
Oh well, I am not worrying about it. I have lots of other things I can do to improve the shop’s ease of use…like organizing the products better. There are too many things in one category and I know it will take a bit of time to sort it all. Good thing I don’t work, eh?! LOL
Thanks for reading and I will put aside my online shop stuff ’til tomorrow so I can catch up on blogs.
