So I took the Career Decision Inventory yesterday and got a 21 page report back! There’s no analysis included, just what I’m interested in and how it compares to other females and males my age. I was surprised at how much is said while telling me to go do the research. There are a lot of occupations included in the clusters I showed interest in. Now I have to go see what the various occupations are connected to the National Occupation Codes they list. Bah! Good thing I’ve got until next Wednesday to look at everything I’m supposed to. Yeesh.
Recently I placed an inter-library loan order for three books and only one was accessible. The other two from outside Canada would have cost me $25-30 each! I could buy the book for that price. So I have one waiting to be picked up at any rate. Perhaps it will be enough and I won’t bother trying to find more on the topic. The books were on mother-daughter sexual abuse. They’re quite difficult to find in libraries-even the university libraries. The U.S. had a better selection but as I mentioned it would have cost me $25-30 for each book to be sent to a library close to me. So if I want to buy any I’ll try Amazon and see if they have any used copies. I don’t know why it’s so hard to find books on the topic in Canada. We are not too different from the Americans yet they have lots of books in their libraries compared to Canada on the subject.
