WordPress New Format Sucks

Did anyone else notice WordPress changed the Reader and Freshly Pressed? It’s not easier to read the way it is now, in fact, I think it’s more difficult reading the posts. You can’t see the word count either for posts like you used to be able to in the Reader. Now it feels like I’m not only having trouble reading from the Reader but fewer posts seem to be showing up. I don’t particularly like it is all I’m saying! I know change has never been my favourite thing but this just annoys me. Please don’t tell me WP is going to start changing it’s formatting every couple of months like facebook! Bah humbug! 😦

  1. I agree!!! Grrrr. silly WP

  2. I hadn’t really noticed – I have all the posts come to my email, so I don’t really use the reader.

  3. I stopped using Reader a while ago because I was missing too many posts.

  4. I hate this. But it was just about a month ago that thaey changed the reader similar to this and then changed it back to normal again. I am just hoping that this will go back to normal. I don’t like change either lol

  5. i agree! change it back is what i say! grump..

  6. It sucks big time! it’s also causing major lag, you can’t access the notifications page directly anymore and when I try to reply to notifications from the drop down menu it won’t load.
Bah humbug to the word press people who are obviously too intent on messing about with the formatting!

  7. I agree…it sucketh!….some Sterling mind created these not so Sterling ideas. πŸ™‚

  8. It is ugly, I think. It is harder to access things and find what is being posted in a timely manner and hasn’t been working right for me for a few weeks or so. Sometimes it helps me find a new post, just as it has been posted, from a friend. Other times it is just frustrating. A long time ago it used to be just great. Now it isn’t.

    • It’s great to see WP has p*ssed so many people off with their changes! LMAO Maybe they will revert back to how it was before so we can actually read the posts easily again. You’re right, too, it is ugly!

  9. I agree. It looks like it has been reformatted for children, and I cannot stand it. Can no one leave well enough alone anymore? (I am sick. Please excuse my nasty disposition!)

  10. You know, I’ve never used the reader, I don’t know how….lol

  11. OMG! I’m so happy I’m not the only one who feels like this! As for the reader? What reader? Now I can hardly get a post to open! Plus..not sure if it’s just me, but at times things take quite a while to fully open. I have a new laptop, so I can’t blame that. Maybe wordpress’s server is too slow now for the number of people using it? Conclusion: It was way easier to navigate the pages before!!! …….Paula x

  12. Yes, yes, yes…… I do hope there are lots of people at WordPress who are pulling faces and wondering how long it will take to get back to ‘normal’.

  14. I really dislike the new freshly pressed format. It makes it hard to see the glory of previous days.

  15. Not very user friendly. Guess they didn’t consultant the users!
